The League of Women Voters of Southern Arizona operates an office that serves as the communication center for all League activities. Desk Volunteers are the face of the League to anyone calling or visiting the local office. The office is staffed Monday through Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., except federal holidays, a December holiday break, and a three-month summer break. Regularly scheduled desk volunteers work two hours every other week. Backup volunteers are readily available in case of scheduling conflicts. Training and support is provided, and new volunteers shadow office experienced volunteers until they feel ready to work on their own.

Desk volunteer tasks include:

Greeting all who come to the office and providing requested information
Answering the phone
Responding to emails
Handling mail
Sending out new member packets
Recording new and renewal memberships
Processing event reservations
Special tasks as needed
